We don’t just automate your chargeback process. We analyse your business processes, tools, and every chargeback situation. Then we win it!
How quickly can Chargemont be up and running for my business?
Most merchants are fully live within 1–3 business days. Our onboarding team handles the technical setup end-to-end — you simply connect your payment processor and we take it from there. More complex integrations with custom stacks typically go live within one week.
What is a chargeback alert and how does it prevent a dispute?
When a customer contacts their bank to raise a dispute, the bank sends Chargemont an alert before the chargeback is formally filed. We intercept this signal and automatically trigger a refund on your behalf — stopping the chargeback from ever reaching your processor. This keeps your dispute ratio low and your payment relationships healthy.
What processors and payment methods are supported?
Chargemont Alerts work across all major card networks and most payment processors including Stripe, Braintree, and direct acquiring relationships. Alert coverage depends on the issuing bank — larger banks typically participate in all alert programmes. AMEX and Discover require specific processor data, so coverage may vary. We'll give you a clear estimate during onboarding.
How does Chargemont's Representment service win disputes?
Our team goes beyond generic templates. We analyse each chargeback individually — reviewing transaction data, delivery confirmation, customer communication history, and fraud signals — then craft a tailored response. Our proprietary winning strategies are built from thousands of resolved disputes. We maintain a 70%+ win rate across all dispute categories.
Will issuing refunds to prevent chargebacks hurt my refund rate?
Refunds do contribute to your refund rate, but a high refund rate is far less damaging than a high chargeback rate. Chargebacks impact your dispute ratio, risk classification, and can trigger processor reviews or account termination. For businesses where refund rate is a concern, we can configure selective auto-refunding rules based on transaction value or dispute reason.
How does volume-based pricing work for Chargemont Alerts?
You pay a per-alert fee that decreases as your monthly volume grows. We never charge for alerts that fail to process — you only pay for alerts that work. For Chargeback Representment, our model is purely performance-based: 25% of revenue recovered, and nothing if we don't win. No monthly retainers or setup fees.
Do I need technical resources to integrate Chargemont?
No. Most integrations are entirely handled by our team. We connect directly to your processor and, if needed, your CRM or order management platform. For custom setups, our engineers work alongside your team and typically require minimal time from your developers. We also offer a full REST API for merchants who prefer a custom integration path.
What level of ongoing support does Chargemont provide?
Every client gets dedicated Slack Connect access to our team, available 24/7. We don't just set you up and leave — we actively monitor your account health, flag anomalies, and adjust strategy when needed. Your account manager reviews your chargeback trends monthly and proactively recommends configuration changes to improve outcomes.
